I wanted to highlight this part from the Premium Pak 17 update, so here it goes: next weekend, May 10th to May 12th Quake Live will be completely FREE! All content will be available to standard players, so if you always wanted to test the Quake Live Premium content, this weekend will be the perfect Read More
Id Software has release Premium Pak 17, meaning that everyone who has a paid subscription will get new content and (slightly) older premium content will be passed down to the free members. This time however 1 of the new premium maps will be released straight into the standard mappool: a Clan Arena map named Repent. This has everything to do with the fact that Quake Live was unavailable for quite some time. To further soothe the sore Id Software has also extended the paid subscriptions by 3 days.
Now that I have briefly mentioned Repent: along with this new map Id Software also released 2 other maps. A TDM map named Arcane Citadel and a duel map named Cure. All 3 maps also purpose other game modes such as Red Rover, Freeze Tag and others (details in the full release note). I will run through all of these maps later and attach a video if my partner in crime Lashknife is up for it.

Further down the release note we can find that next weekend will be free premium weekend! The rest of the premium pak includes a few other smaller changes that have been made to the game, such as a HUD Score Element fix and some map fixes.
This concludes the short overview of the new Premium Pak, read the full log by clicking the Continue Reading button if you have stumbled on this post via our homepage or click here to read it straight from the source. Read More
For those who have missed the News button on the Quake Live website: sponge has released a bit more information about the downtime. Most importantly, anyone who has registered after Monday, April 29, starting from 2AM CDT (8AM GMT, 9AM CET) will have to register his account again. Anyone who made changes to his already existing account will have to make them again, this includes profile settings, ingame-settings and binds that are replicated to the site (qlconfig and repconfig) and the addition or removal of friends and clans. Check your settings and make sure everything is alright. Read More
Quake Live has returned after being down for almost 2 days. It is still unclear what the reason was, but Id Software will be releasing more information soon. While we wait, you can check out the preview of Premium Pak 17 or play some 1-Flag CTF. Read More
In case you didn’t notice: Quake Live is still down. I was waiting for it to come up and write something about it but I guess someone tripped over the wrong set of wires making the downtime longer than anyone expected.

No more Red Rover since yesterday, but Harvester. If you didn’t get the chance to play this gametype because it was premium, look no further and try it now. Several servers are spawned around the globe so join up and give it a taste. In harvester you have to collect skulls that appear when you frag an enemy. Grabbing the skulls from the center of map and taking them to the enemy’s base will score you a point. First to 15 wins. Read More
