Holysh1t has been down too often in the last months, due to a (probable) misconfiguration on our VPS. Me and Lashknife have moved to a new server, hosted in Amsterdam, NL. This new VPS has been running for a few months without going down once so we hope that all issues are now resolved. I Read More
For those of us who have Pro accounts, you are now able to launch any gametype and host it for standard players as well. This should allow some gametypes to get more traction and along with that more players. If you ever wanted to try some of the non-standard gametypes, look for spawned servers by pro subscribers. The standalone game has been released and besides people experiencing some problems with the .Net launcher, the major change of the standalone game is that Mac and Linux support are dropped. For those users Quake Live became Quake Dead. If you want to continue with the game, you will have to purchase a Windows licence. But it’s not all bad news. Read More
Holysh1t, time is flying and there’s been some interesting news lately. One of the most interesting bits of news is the announcement that Quake Live will be turned into a standalone game. A lot of people see it going back to the roots of Quake 3 but there’s more to it than just a Quake 3 re-release. 1 of the most discussed items is the discontinued support for Linux and Mac.

The QLPP19 has been released a few weeks ago and everybody has been able to give it a taste. The gist of it are the 3 new CTF maps, all coming from Dan Scancode Gold. We’ll get into those maps in a bit. Important for the freebies is that Domination and Attack&Defend now have “public premium” servers running, which should result in more players for these modes.

A sneak peek on the upcoming Premium Pak 19 has been released by Id Software, and I apologize for being a tad late with it. When the news was posted on the QL website, I was, and still am, at the hospital with my wife. To cut a long story short, I’m the proud father Read More
Let’s have a quick look at what this month’s Standard Rotation has in store for us. CTF is going in for an amazing month with community favourite Space CTF. Just kidding though, Ironworks, Japanese Castles and Courtyard will be the maps to play.
For TDM, we’re going to be looking at Dreadful Place and Hidden Fortress mostly. I’m not TDM-literate enough to judge on Arcane Citadel, which was introduced in Premium Pak 17 and has been reviewed by me and Lashknife.
Finally, if we look at Duel we can pretty much predict that you’ll be seeing a lot of Blood Run and Lost World. For those looking to practice their aim, definitely try out Eye to Eye, and last but not least, in any gamemode that’s available to you, play a few rounds on Quake 2 classic The Edge! Read More
Quake Live is expanding into new territory. Thanks to Orcon there are now servers in Auckland, New Zealand. To make things a bit more clear on the website they have renamed the location “Australia” to “Oceania”. If someone from that region can test the connection with the new servers and let us know, that’d be Read More

In the future, Strenx wants Read More
Update: Apparantly this news item was posted by accident by the Quake Live devs and it’s content is “invalid”. The servers will not be going down! Attention to our few Australian followers: The Sydney #1 server will go down for maintenance. The server will be switched off on thursday from 12:00 (UTC), but rest assured, Read More
