To get the ball rolling again on Holysh1t.net, I’ve created a new simple poll. What gametype do you prefer? Is it Duel, or would you rather play CTF? Memento_Mori and myT have released version 0.1 of their 2D Demo Viewer called U2DDV (Uber 2D Demo Viewer). The first release of their nifty piece of software has support for duel, TDM, CTF and CA modes, but only a select number of maps are supported with proper 2D visualization. Other maps will have a gray background, but I have no doubt this will be addressed in the future.
It looks like the ZOTAC Duel Cup will come to an end this sunday, july 29th. It will have lasted 144 editions. Every week players can sign up freely to the cup and try to win the €100 prizemoney, winner takes all. This means the duel cup alone has distributed €14400 to the players, mostly to Strenx, who has won a staggering 48 games.

Id Software released an update today that requires you to reinstall the plugin. Just giving you a heads-up. As usual a few premium maps have been added, one of which some of you might remember quite well from the Christmas period: Distant Screams .This is a stripped down Silent Night. The second map that has been added is a duel map named Toxicity.

Prompted by a thread on the QuakeLive forums asking if there were any programs with syntax highlighting for editing QL configs, and the fact that there isn’t, I just went off and made a custom language file for Notepad++.
I went through the configs from the games I play, and added in some extra things to make those work too. It’s not perfect and I’m no guru, but it’s better than just plain old black text on a white background. The colours need tweaked, but they’re workable at the moment.
