Holysh1t summer cleanup

Holysh1t hasn’t been doing anything for quite a while. News only got posted when we just happened to pass by at the right time, but we’ll try to make that change. We’ll try to provide you with Quake news and tips, like we used to do in the past.

A little history as to why we have left the site to be in it’s current state:

Lashknife became a father! He spends all his time with family at the moment and probably won’t make a full comeback to the scene. He has a second pro-Quaker incoming soon. He also took down the config generator as it was outdated and he did not find the time to rewrite it with all the new possibilities out there.

FOR3CAS7 vanished from the earth. As far as we know he received a (internal) job-offer he just couldn’t resist and had to spend a lot of time on it. He did not return.

Bartolome0 has find refuge in other games, such as Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. He will most likely have moved on from these games as well, but he is still an active gamer.

b5k has simply lost interest seeing how things were going in Quake Live. I believe he is playing CPM again.

Crystal_Method, who remembers him? He sunk so much time and effort into the site that his own popularity finally became his demise. He decided to quit streaming a long time ago and went on to Team Fortress 2 and other games.

These were the guys I got to work with, though other people have run Holysh1t before me, but I don’t know where they’re all hanging out now.

The other reason was that Playquake wanted to be the next big thing in Quake Live, with news and guides and a whole fancy pantsy pickup channel where all the gamemodes were combined. At that point, considering all of the personal issues that I have listed above, we decided to step aside, to not split the community any further.

Lastly, there’s LevelUpTV. They picked up streaming and have been doing an awesome job. There was no longer a streaming void to be filled out by Holysh1t TV as they had surpassed us greatly with great commentary and excellent coverage. I continue to stream in name of Holysh1t, trying out new features such as PiP views during duel matches, simply because I enjoy providing a window to the world of Quake.
