Gameplay and server rules |
DDay might be a confusing game for a beginner. He shoots someone and finds himself disconnected from the server all of a sudden. What did you do wrong and what can you do to prevent it next time? Read the rules before you hit the battlefield and save yourself from a lot of questions and worries.
These rules apply to the North American servers and European servers. Chilean servers hold other rules. Their style of play is more Quake2 deathmatch like, while the NA/EU servers are striving to realism with their rules.
- Do not kill teammates. Teamkilling, better known as TKing, is not allowed on any server. Make sure you are shooting the right people. Axis look grey and allies look more brown, remember what team you are on. If you accidentally TK someone, no harm done. Simply apologise. You will receive a ban if you repeatedly TK teammates or TK as part of revenge from a prior TK against you.
- Do not bunny jump. Bunny jumping, or bunnying, is a term used to describe unnecessary jumping. Jumping 3 times in a field to go faster: illegal. Don't do this, unless you want to exit the server very quickly with a kick message.
- Do not nade jump. Nade jumping, or jumping to throw a grenade over a greater distance, is frowned upon in the DDay community.
- Do not spawn kill. Spawn killing is killing someone on his start point before he gets a chance to defend himself. DDay has fixed spawn points and these may not be entered by the opposing team. If you enter one you will be kicked from the server.
- Do not unbalance the teams. If a team is 1 player short, join this one, even when they are winning. You can always ask which team to join if you're not sure what to do.
- Do not spam messages. Neither in general or the team chat. You will first receive a 10 second mute, afterwards you can get kicked and/or banned.
- Do not dive around a corner. Diving is the term used to describe jumping and changing stance in the air to quickly fire a weapon which require a certain stance (such as an HMG or bazooka/panzerfaust)
- Do not keep initiating votes. If a vote fails, it means the players are happy with the current map. If you keep initiating a vote, people will get annoyed and you may be removed from the server.
- Respect admins, other players, server owners and especially, the skill of the older players. Some players have been playing this game for 5+ years straight so don't be suprised if someones pops your head with a handgun from a mile away when you turn a corner.
- Do not take or destroy your own objectives. Doing this will get you kicked and the map restarted. If you are new, simply apologise and the game will continue.
- Medics are not allowed to have a gun on most servers. They spawn without a weapon but are able to pick one up. It is best that you don't. You are there to heal people. Although I have to mention the fact that some people and some servers do allow medics to pick up guns. Ask someone on the server wether he approves or disapproves this before you go on a medic kill frenzy.

Community Info |
Himmy's server went offline, unfortunately, this time it will stay offline. Himmy rented the server and considering the small community it was time to let go.
For your information, COOLnet and dday.mine.nu are still fully functional!
