Yesterday was the final day for the Complexity Gaming Quake Live Movie contest entries to be submitted.
Each submission has been reviewed by the Complexity crew and 6 finalists have been selected. Head over to the official voting polls to vote for your favorite.

It wasn’t really a competition that could ever produce miracles; don’t have a lot of QL footage since it’s still quite new, 2 week deadline (of which probably nobody spent the full time on this) and none of the helpful tools Q3 has (but “fun” problems such as QL being on the tiny OS partition – hell for footage capture) = not going to see something like a next Get Quaked 3 (“13 months of work, over 1500 demos, more then 1 TB of HD space used. Hundreds of hours of editing” and the camming tools etc.) or anything.
Obviously not memorable but we have to start somewhere and these were all who submitted anything at all so take it for what it is.
Personally I’ll certainly make more and way better movies (at least one “good”) in the future (and have made several in the past though never spent significant time on them), just hoping to get in on an active, serious and good enough TDM team to start with. Need footage after all.
did you use fraps?
it saves the cams in the directory it is installed and i think you can alter the directory 🙂
Torzelans is the best for sure, but n/o I find it a bit boring to watch pure railing sequences, but that’s just me… 🙂
I personally think it’s a breat of fresh air compared to all the airrocket frag movies. Torzelan really synced the rail frags very well with the music, making it very enjoyable to watch.
yes i agree, movie quality was very good, nice audio sync and all, but just… series of rail frags 🙂 (prolly cos i suck at it and want those skillzors too!)
It’s a fair point and can’t disagree, but like I said it’s hard to find tons of cool midairs and stuff like that with literally only 2-3 hours of demos in total to take from (everything in mine was duels – which I don’t even really play – and practise clan wars / cup wars). Also my main weapon by far is the LG anyway ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd-t811uvHQ&fmt=18 for some OSP abuse) but just can’t use those frags in Quake Live because they look like pure crap with my 60ms. “beep beep beep beep” *crosshair is a mile behind enemy on demo*…
