Since some time, ESL features a Weekend Cup Series for Polish players only, which is played during the weekend (yah-hah!), and features Best-of-3 games in a Double-Elimination bracket system.
This past weekend the 4th edition was concluded which featured a DE16 format, unlike the first 3 editions that were SE32 (Single Elimination).
During this 4th weekend, some unexpected players rose to the occasion to run away with the gold silver bronze and whatever metal that is left behind for 4th place.
The fixtures have been reviewed and another draft has been made (v2 as v1 contained inconsistencies) Here you can see the draft There are 5 individual leagues with 4 groups each. The top 2 of each group after the first rounds will start in the play-offs battling for eternal pride. It’s awesome to see so

The first edition of this tournament has come to a conclusion and already edition two is in registration mode. The first edition concluded with fooki taking the gold, bodzo won silver and Blanka finishing 3rd on the bronze. Several demos and movies are available as we speak, so head over if you want to replay
It’s raining duel tournaments these days! Because of the lack of private servers – be patient, they will come sooner or later 😉 – the only game type that is actually doable in terms of running and managing, is duel.
I read on IRC about it this morning and it was posted yesterday on the Quake Live forums, and seeing that in 1 day it has already a decent amount of signups, it’s worth mentioning!
Spontangames.de is making it a tradition to organize a duel cup on a monthly basis. Their past editions (edition #1 and edition #2) have been a success so I can only cheer for this!
