Europe 2010 Quake Live – Teaser
Didn’t I say I like frag movies? Yes I did! And a shiny one is seeing the light of day!
From zEvon’s hand we will find ourselves watching a very nice Quake Live movie called Europe 2010.
The trailer specifications don’t lie: capped at 300 fps, rendered at 60 fps for a whopping 30 hours using tools like Sony vegas 9 64Bit, Adobe After effects cs4, Vdub 64bit, Trapcode Plugins, Protools 8, … that promises some good stuff for the final movie.
But all this cannot happen without your help! We need you to send demos to euroquakelive@hotmail.com, just like with our own series of Moment of Fame, but with some differences:
Contributions must follow these criteria as the goal is to make a compilation of Europe’s finest:
- Be European!
- Be good! We’ve all seen thousands of airrockets and comborails and anyone can do them, but we’re aiming for the best of Europe. This can mean a demo of yourself, or you just sending in a demo of a good frag sequence of any very well known pro player.
- Demos + time indication and small description of what happens
Sending in demos does not mean you(r demo) will be in the movie. zEvon will contact you with an answer email if he uses your demo!
So send in those demos and enjoy the teaser/trailer inside this post!

oh btw, either I missed it or I didnt see a Belgian flag.
So I guess the full movie will see/need a rapid sequence of all flags dude, definitely :p
haha i would have to add so many flags if i would ad all countries in europe !
Make a gridview with flags interchanging each other, takes like 4 secs to go through all of them 🙂
Wikipedia is a good source for euro flags: (not the nicest graphics but still a good collection)

Yes that is a BIG problem atm about quakelive !
Frags in trailer are definetly not impressive, no wonder you made the trailer to ask for more frags!! Stunning quality though, thumbs up!

orchild, I don’t think the frags in the trailer were meant to already make you your jaw drop. They’re just meant to set the theme and matching the beat of the cool intro music.
At least I think that was the intention of this. I’m sure he’ll feature cool frags, which is idd exactly the reason he asks for user submitted demos. After all, there’s no way 1 person can have time to gather massive amounts of demos, go through them to sort out crap from crazy and put it together in a compilation.

I have already used some :S sry to say BUT this is gonna be a pretty big movie so chances are that yo will not have the same demos + if you are making a IEM coverage movie or so then thats a seperate kinda thing annyways! When will you release the trailer!?
please talk to each other, so you can both get the maximum out of your movies.
When you cap with cl_avidemo 300 does the video and audio fall out of synch on longer clips like it does when I capped some stuff with cl_avidemo 240?
Yes BUT! there are some tricks to work that out which have todo with more work 😀 but its worth it imo

I am an extremely lazy person so I think I will probably just stick to 200 for my project.

Looks great, I love a good frag movie! Really nice visuals too, I wish QL looked that good normally. Oh, and if needed I can mirror the download on a few hosts, since the rapidshare uploaded fails

About the flags, why don’t you only use the flags of the people shown in your vid.
If nobody from vatican city/luxembourg/portugal is shown in your video, why show there flag?
Imo the Flags is not the most important. I will deff find a solution which satisfies all.
I am concentrating on the Quality of the movie and the Frags atm to give the best i can.
Flags is only a Small question which will be covered at the end.
The movie is going well got around 5 minutes now of pretty high skill. Definitely the best known players in there!
